Ethel Anderson Obituary

Ethel M. Anderson, 99, of Charleston, WV, passed away on November 15, 2025, at English Meadows Assisted Living Facility.

Born in Charleston, West Virginia, Ethel spent her early childhood there before her family relocated to Pennsylvania. She grew up in Glassport, attending local schools and later completing business school - an education that laid the groundwork for the professional life she would pursue with dedication and pride.

Ethel eventually returned to her hometown of Charleston, where she began her working life, and soon embarked on what would become a long and accomplished career with United Bank. Known for her strong work ethic and professionalism, she formed lasting connections with colleagues and customers alike.

She treasured time spent with her sisters and family, finding great joy in the closeness they shared throughout the years. Ethel also had an appreciation for the finer things-an elegance and refined taste that reflected her personality and the graceful way she moved through life.

Ethel will be remembered for her refinement, her love of family, and the many lives she touched along her journey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Marie Mallory Anderson; her sister, Jo Anderson; and her nephew, Clinton Anderson Steele. She is survived by her sister, Phyllis Atwood.

A private burial was held for Ethel in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston.
