Wanda Ward Obituary
May 14, 1950 – December 4, 2023
JONESBOROUGH - Mrs. Wanda Lou Ward, age 73, of Jonesborough, TN, formerly of Ashe County passed away Monday night, December 4, 2023, at her home while surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023 at 1:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Hess officiating. Burial will follow in the Calhoun Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00-1:00pm on Friday, December 8, 2023; two hours prior to the funeral service.
Wanda was born in Ashe County on May 14, 1950 to the late Walter E. and Mamie Miller Bennett. She worked many years at Burlington Industry. Wanda was a member of Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church. She was a lover of all kinds of flowers, a loving wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by six siblings.
Mrs. Ward is survived by her husband, of 51 years of marriage, Eddie Ward; two sons, Tony Blevins (Diane), of Lansing and David Blevins (Julie), of Jefferson; two sisters, Betty Bennett, of Lansing and Polly Himm, of West Jefferson; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
