PINEY FLATS - Vivian Ann Feathers, 79, Piney Flats, passed away with her family by her side, Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Franklin Woods Community Hospital.
She was a native of Johnson City and a daughter of the late John A. and Ruth Martin Ford.
Vivian was a member of Austin Springs Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Milligan College, earning her degree in education. Vivian was a teacher for the Washington County Department of Education. She taught at Austin Springs Elementary, Boones Creek Elementary and Middle School for 32 years.
In addition to her parents Vivian was preceded in death by her sister, Gail Feathers.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Osler Feathers; son, John Feathers and wife Lindsey; three grandchildren, Alyssa, Jake, and Reagan Feathers; brother-in-law, JD Feathers; sister-in-law, Sara Baker; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Vivian will be conducted Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 7:00 P.M. from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Pastor Don Hilton, officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00-7:00 P.M. in the East Parlor of the funeral home.
The graveside committal service will be held Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 12:00 P.M. in Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Sidney Martin, John Elsea, Jack McLaney, Jared Diehl, Jeff Baker, Jacob Feathers, Brandon Whetsel, and Jerry Ford. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Shepherd, John Swonger, Gary Hodges, and Bill Humphrey. Those who wish to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 11:30 A.M. to follow in procession to the cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the third floor PCU at Franklin Woods for their support and care of Vivian.

She was my teacher at Boones Creek .I'll always remember her as being a gentle lady and an amazing teacher that ment alot to me.God bless her family during this time of loss.
