Mrs. Viola Marie Brown

October 18, 1937 -

October 13, 2024

TELFORD - Mrs. Viola Marie Brown, age 86 of Telford, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at her residence on Sunday morning, October 13, 2024.

Marie was a native of Washington County, born October 18, 1937 to the late Floyd Estel Sparks and Lillie Bell Mashburn. She married Hoot G. Brown April 19, 1958 and became a loving and devoted wife and mother.

She was also preceded in death by her brothers Floyd, Mack, Clyde and Don Sparks; sisters Dorothy Neal Cole and Mildred Brown.

She was a member of Bowmantown Baptist Church in Jonesborough where she loved her Sunday School class.

She retired from West View Elementary School cafeteria where was known as the french-fry lady.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 66 ½ years Hoot G. Brown; son, Michael; daughter, Denah (Scott Reaves); sister, Patsy Keys; brother, Hartsell Sparks (Phyllis), many nieces and nephews and her special great-grandchildren Adaleigh and Axel Reaves.

The family will receive friends Saturday, October 19 th at Jonesborough Funeral Home from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, October 20 th at Bowmantown Baptist Church, Jonesborough with Rev. Tony Crossnoe and Pastor Josh Grizzle officiating. Graveside services will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery in Limestone. Pallbearers will be nephews, Jonathan Brown, Bobby Brown, Tony Sparks, Matthew Sparks, Steve Brown and Tony Hensley.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandboys Cody, Zach, Caleb and Dylan Reaves.

The family would like to express a very special thank you to Megan Long in her wonderful care and compassion during moma's sickness and also Kelsey, Bryan and the Amedisys Hospice staff.
