Tonua N. Tipton June 7, 1956- June 14, 2024
ROAN MOUNTAIN - Tonua N (Davis) Tipton, 68 went to Heaven June 14, 2024 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC with her family at her side. Tonua was a Nurse at the Johnson City Medical Center for over 30 years before that she worked at the Garrett Memorial Hospital Crossnore, NC. She was a graduate of ETSU. God Loving woman, Loving Wife and Mother. She will truly be missed. She leaves behind her husband Gary Tipton, Son Brian Tipton and Daughter Kelsey Tipton. All of Roan Mountain. Sisters Pam Crumley of Roan Mountain and Regina Briggs of Anderson, South Carolina. She was proceeded in death by her parents Neville and Edith (Cordell) Davis, siblings Ronnie Davis, Charles Davis and Barbara Murray. Also proceeded in death by Father-in-Law and Mother-in-Law Roy and Hazel Tipton. A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor Saturday, June 29th at Magill Memorial Presbyterian Church 296 Highway 143, Roan Mountain, TN at 11:00am.?

How wonderful to share and celebrate the love of a truly great gal. Tonua was a joy each day we were together at work, she was a joy as a friend away from work. Heaven is brighter now although we all miss her.

I worked on 2300 at JCMC with Tonua when I was fresh out of nursing school in 1996. I learned so much from her. She was so kind & so funny. More than anything, I remember her always talking about her family. She absolutely adored her family. I´m so sorry for your loss.

Tonua's passing has left a void in our church, our community, and our lives. She was devoted to God, family and friends. We will miss her so. Condolences to Gary, Kelsey, Brian and her other family members. Praying for peace and comfort to all.
