JOHNSON CITY - Tommy Ray Poarch, 82, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023 at his residence following a short battle with cancer. Born in Elizabethton TN, he was the son of the late Ray Poarch and Claudia Hawkins Poarch. In addition to his parents, Mr. Poarch was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Glover Poarch and daughter Lorrie Poarch Ferrell.
Mr. Poarch was of the Baptist faith who always put the needs of his family before his own. He loved spending quality time with his son Brian and his only grandson, Brock. He also enjoyed golfing, working around his home and watching any type of racing.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son Brian Poarch and grandson, Brock Ferrell both of Johnson City TN; two brothers-in-law, Kenneth Glover and his wife Gerry, and Clyde Glover all of Johnson City, TN; one sister-in-law, Sharron Warren and her husband Jim of Covington, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 12:00PM until 1:00PM at Monte Vista Funeral Home. The family requests the honor of your presence for a Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Poarch that will follow at 1:00PM with Pastor Scott Thompson officiating. A Private Committal Service and Entombment will be held in the Chapel Mausoleum at Monte Vista Memorial Park.
