Tommy 'Wayne" Miller, 65 of Jonesborough, TN, passed away on December 12, 2024. Born in Erwin, TN on August 26, 1959, Wayne was a man whose warm and welcoming nature touched many lives. He retired as a foreman from the Washington County Highway Department where he spent many years of dedicated service.
Wayne was known for his boundless love and generosity, traits that were evident in his everyday interactions. He never hesitated to extend a helping hand those in need, embodying the true spirit of community and kindness.
In his personal life, Wayne was a loving family man. He is survived by his mother, Rebecca Mae Miller; his wife, Donna Miller; 2 brothers, Jimmy Miller (Linda Grace) and Kelly Miller; 1 son, Travis Wayne Miller (Robin Nelson) and 1 daughter Tracy Diane Story (Casey Story); and all of his beloved grandchildren, Jacob Miller (Ariel Mason), Dalton Miller, Dezrah Miller, Daiton Miller, Mason Miller, Gage Mooney, Ashton Mckinney, Braylin Story, Raylin Story, Rebecca Mae Story, 1 great-granddaughter Ellie Mae Miller, his honorary grandson Kadon Rigsby; his extended family, brothers-in-law, Troy Story, Billy Story (Betty), Shane Rasnick (Hannah); Sisters-in-law, Teresa Nickles (Joey), Tonia Paul (CBO); his special friends Calvin Kyker, Danny "FROG" Blevins; and his forever Son-(in-law), Jerry Wayne Mooney. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his cousin Priscilla Broyles for her exceptional care, kindness, and unwavering dedication to supporting Wayne throughout his illness until his passing.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Lee Miller; his nephew, Terry Kelly Lee Miller; his grandson, Tommy LeeWayne Jones; and his best friend Gerald Price.
Wayne especially cherished every moment he spent with all of his grandchildren, who he helped raise until the day he left with great joy and dedication. His hobbies included working on cars, raising chickens, and tinkering on old lawnmowers. He enjoyed mowing his yard every summer and had a passion for sharing a good cold beer with friends and family, creating lasting memories and fostering a sense of togetherness.
There will be no formal service; a celebration of life for Wayne will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to have a cold beer in his honor.
