Tommy Douglas Blevins

ELIZABETHTON - Tommy Douglas Blevins, age 84, of Elizabethton, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at his residence. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Thomas and Leona Pennington Blevins and was born on April 17, 1940. In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by two sons, Ricky Douglas Blevins and Steven David Blevins; sister-in-law, Judy Blevins.

Tommy Blevins was a lifetime member of Southside Christian Church and Retired from Fluor Daniels at TN Eastman. He enjoyed fishing, camping spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Jayden.

Those left to cherish his many memories include his loving wife, of 65 years, Ruth J. Blevins, of the home; son, Thomas Daniel Blevins, of Tampa, FL; daughter, Melissa Franklin , of Sevierville, TN; three grandchildren: Noah Blevins, Wendy Lyons and Nikki Potter (Jon); six great grandchildren: Daniel Lyons, Daisy Hill, Arionna Potter, Lexi Potter, Jayden Potter and Jaxon Potter; brother, Robert Blevins, of Elizabethton; sister, Linda Nidiffer (Ken), of Elizabethton. Several Nieces and nephews also survive.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Dr.'s, nurses and staff of D-1 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center Hospital for the loving care given to Mr. Blevins and also to all the first responders.
