Thomas "Tom" A. Wilkinson September 12, 1942- April 21, 2024
JOHNSON CITY - Thomas "Tom" A. Wilkinson, 81, Johnson City, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024, at his home, following a lengthy illness.
Tom was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. He was a son of the late Walter and Mary Lee Roberts Wilkinson.
Tom was a 1961 graduate of Science Hill High School, and a 1967 graduate of East Tennessee State University, where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree.
He was formerly employed as a Credit Manager with Beecham Laboratories, Bristol, where he retired in 1991, after twenty-one years of service. Tom then owned and operated Elder Care Personal Services, Inc. until his retirement in 2015.
He was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, John and Sue Wilkinson.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-five years, Betty Carrier Wilkinson; his son, Jason Wilkinson and wife Leslee, Knoxville; two grandchildren, Jake and Zoe Wilkinson, Knoxville.
The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Gentiva Hospice and Cornerstone Caregiving, for the excellent care given to Tom.
The graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at 10:00 A.M., in the Garden of the Cross at Monte Vista Memorial Park, with Rev. Gene Elliott, officiating. Those planning to attend are to meet at the cemetery by 9:50 A.M. Wednesday.
Memorial contributions honoring Tom may be made to Central Baptist Church, 300 N. Roan St., Johnson City, TN 37601.

So so sorry for your GREAT LOSS!! Tom and I were in the senior class play together. I always thought the world of him. He was such a kind caring man. We need more like him!!! You are in my heart and prayers as you go through this. He´ll be greatly missed by all who knew him. God be with you!!!
