Thomas Bales Obituary

ORLANDO, FL - Thomas Dean Bales, 89, of Orlando, Florida passed away Monday, October 16, 2023 at his residence. He was a native of Washington County, TN and was a son of the late William Harvey Bales and Hazel Kelly Bales. Mr. Bales retired from Orlando Utilities after many years of service. He was a veteran having served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Bales was a member of The First Orlando Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Campbell Bales in 2015; brother, Richard Bales: sisters, Isabelle Evans, Ann Bennett, Glenda Bales and Judy Trivette.

Survivors include two sons, Greg Bales and his wife, Tori of Leesburg, FL and Dan Bales and his wife, Claudia of Longwood, FL; a brother, Bill Bales Jr. of Johnson City; three grandchildren, Erica Pierce, Candice Burkholder and Steely Dan Thomas Bales; also, several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Mr. Bales will be conducted at 3:00 PM Monday, October 23, 2023 in the Roselawn Memory Park with Pastor Kenneth Grindstaff officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 PM at Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City. Pallbearers will be selected from the family and friends.
