Theresa Shoemaker Obituary

Theresa "Terry" Shoemaker, 77 of Graham, WA passed away on October 13, 2025. Born December 1, 1947 in San Francisco, CA, Terry was the beloved daughter of Elizabeth and Richard Ervin (both deceased).
Terry grew up in South San Francisco, CA alongside her sisters Carolyn, Joan, Barbara and Virginia. She graduated from the University of San Francisco with a nursing degree, beginning a lifelong career dedicated to care for others. Her early years as a nurse took her to hospitals in San Francisco, Burlingame and Mountain View, CA.
In 1976 she married the love of her life, Dudley Shoemaker. The couple moved to Manhattan, KS, when Dudley was stationed as Ft. Riley, KS, and later Ft. Lewis, WA, where they settled in Graham, WA. Terry continued her nursing career and retired from St. Joseph Hospital, Tacoma, WA. She volunteered at Graham/South Hill Food Bank for several years and met her good friend Kathy Ruth. Terry loved to read, travel and collect cookbooks. Terry had a vast knowledge of art history and enjoyed visiting museums. Terry and Dudley enjoyed nature, especially trips to Mt. Rainer.
Beside her sisters, Terry leaves behind her nephew Joshua and grandnieces Isabella and Luciana. Thank you, Kathy Ruth, for being a compassionate and loving friend to Terry and Dudley.
