Theresa Doty Obituary

JOHNSON CITY - Theresa Gertrude Doty, age 83, of Johnson City, TN, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the Waters of Johnson City. She was born in Johnson City, TN. She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Cunningham; and husband, A.B. "Chick" Doty. She is survived by her son, Paul Smith.

Theresa was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She previously worked as a LPN in Clearwater and St. Petersburg, Florida, where she always packed her lunch with extra food for her less well-off patients. She enjoyed thrift store shopping and was one that will be remembered as adventurous, a firecracker, and with a heart to help others in need.

A Committal Service and Inurnment will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 10:00 AM in Section H at Monte Vista Memorial Park. A reception will follow in the funeral home chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Catholic Charities of East Tennessee, 119 Dameron Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37917 or to any local food pantry.
