JOHNSON CITY - Teresa Ann Whaley, 56, Johnson City passed away Monday, June 26, 2023 in Fort Sanders Medical Center in Knoxville. She was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and was a daughter of the late Blaine and Reba Casey Kyte. Teresa attended Milligan Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Dale Whaley in 1999; a son, Ronnie Whaley; a brother, Larry Jonas and a sister, Wanda Kyte.
Survivors include her son, Steven Lee Jonas and a daughter, Brittany Whaley both of Johnson City; three sisters, Barbara Friday, Rita Hamm and Sherry Whaley; nieces, Mindy Whaley and Neveah Whaley; nephews, David Kilgore and Bryann Hoss; also, her church family.
Funeral services for Teresa will be conducted at 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Milligan Freewill Baptist Church, 1471 Milligan Highway, Johnson City with Pastor Mark Street officiating. Music will be provided by the church singers. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services will follow in the Mountain Home National Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that contributions be made to the funeral home to help with unexpected funeral expenses.
