JOHNSON CITY - Sylvia Hendrix Clearman, born March 4, 1943, in Johnson City, TN, went home to meet her Lord on June 18, 2023. Ms. Clearman was a native of Carter County and was the daughter of the late William and Lucy Hendrix.
Ms. Clearman is survived by her daughters, Deborah Connor Hodge, Fort Worth, TX, and Laura Holtsclaw, Hampton, TN. Grandchildren Jonathan Connor, Fort Worth, TX and Emily Holtsclaw Elsey, Bristol, TN; Great grandchildren Adalyn and Lily Connor, Fort Worth, TX; Brother Larry Hendrix, Johnson City, TN, sisters Nancy Hendrix Lowe, Johnson City, TN and Rita Hendrix Pickens, Franklin, TN; Sons-in-law Dwight Hodge, Fort Worth, TX and Jim Holtsclaw, Hampton, TN. Several other nieces and nephews also survive.
Ms. Clearman retired from M&M Properties. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, her bowling league, cooking and reading.
Ms. Clearman was a member of Downtown Christian Church, Johnson City, TN.
A memorial service to honor of life of Sylvia Hendrix Clearman will be held at 2:00 PM on June 24, 2023, at Happy Valley Memorial Park, Mausoleum of Peace Chapel in Johnson City.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Dominion Senior Living and Amedisys Hospice for their love and excellent care of Ms. Clearman.

I am sorry for your loss. she was a very nice lady. I only new her in her later years she was very nice to to me i use to come and help her with small things worked for a home care company. I am sorry I can't be there to celebrate her life . She will be missed in my heart.Her loss be hard but you have to believe that you will see her again in heaven some day like I believe I will see her .
