Sue Murray Obituary

Sue Murray June 18, 2024

Sue Murray, cherished by all who knew her, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her wonderful husband, Bill, who passed away 21 years ago, to the day. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Daisy Buckles, son, Tommy Laws, and sister, Shirley Burke, sons-in-law, Dennis Hall and Bob McPeak, and best friend, Nell Gardner.

Sue was a devoted mother to her children and is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Phillip) Davis, Coot (Brian) Cade, Tracy Hall, and Angel "Angie" McPeak, and her son, David (Stacie) Murray. She was also survived by her sister, Linda (Fernando) Lecca, nephew who was like a son, Jerry Adams, and niece, Amber Burke. She found immense joy in her role as a grandmother and as a great-grandmother to her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

After a fulfilling career working in Washington County school cafeterias, Sue enjoyed her retirement years surrounded by the love of her family, friends, and her "baby boy", her beloved dog, Brody. Her kind spirit and generous heart touched everyone she met. She was one of the most thoughtful people you could ever meet and never would let a birthday pass by without sending a card to those she knew and loved.

Sue had many hobbies and passions in life. She loved to garden and took pride in her beautiful flowers each year. She could often be found on her back porch with a big glass of sweet tea in her hand admiring her flowers or talking across the fence with her dear friend, Clara. She enjoyed spending her Saturdays going to every yard sale in the surrounding area. She loved listening to Elvis and spending quality time with her family and friends. Sue was known to be a talker and loved to share many entertaining stories with her loved ones.

Most importantly, Sue loved Jesus and her desire for togetherness and unity touched the hearts of so many. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A special thank you to her daughter, Tracy, for her three years of taking such good care of Mom.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 21, 2024 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 7pm with Pastor Pat More officiating. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 2:00 pm in Washington County Memory Gardens, everyone attending is asked to be there by 1:50 pm.
