Steven Vlisides Obituary
In Loving Memory of Steven Lee Vlisides
May 1, 1968 – November 11, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved son, father, and brother, Steven Lee Vlisides, who left us peacefully on November 11, 2025. He was 57 years old.
Steven was born on May 1, 1968, and from the very beginning, he brought a smile and laughter to everyone around him. He had a big heart and a quick wit, and a way of making every person feel special. Those who knew him best will remember his unwavering loyalty to the people he loved and was always ready with a laugh. Steven approached each day with a genuine kindness that left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Steven was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease at the age of 41. The disease brought immense challenges over the next 16 years; he faced them with an enduring sense of humor and a will to keep moving forward. Steven was preceded in death by his father, Lee Vlisides.
He is survived by his loving mother, Becky Vlisides, and caring stepfather, Doug Zahn; his children, Kevin Vlisides and Rebecca Vlisides (Scotty); and his five cherished grandchildren, Andrew, Ariel, Bentley, Xander, and Aristotle. He is also survived by his sister, Leah (Vlisides) Flanigan, her husband, Michael Flanigan, and their son, Brady Flanigan.
Steven will also be deeply missed by dear friends and extended family members, all of whom will carry his love and spirit forward in their hearts forever. Plans for a celebration of Steven's life will be announced at a later date. Family and friends will be invited to come together to share memories, laughter, and love in honor of the life he lived.
In lieu of flowers, our family asks that donations be made to the Kirk Gibson Foundation for Parkinson's in his memory. https://www.kirkgibsonfoundation.org/about-the-foundation/
Steven will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. His compassion and gentle strength will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved him. Steven was, above all else, a man who loved his family. His laughter, his kindness, and his steady presence will be missed, but his spirit will live on in all of us who were blessed to know him.
