February 26, 2025
Stephen Curtis Roper, 61, of Unicoi, TN, passed away peacefully February 26, 2025, after a short, devastating battle with kidney disease and cancer.
He was a dedicated, hard working man in the Auto Damage Adjusting Industry for over 30 years. Steve was well known for his outgoing personality, his Infectious laughter, and passion for nature. He was not only a loving husband and father, but the best grandfather anyone could have. His family was his joy!
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Anita, their three children, Gene Curtis Roper, Bonnie Lynn Olvera (husband Eddie), Betsy Marie White (husband Joshua), Fifteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two sisters, Andrea Shaw, Stephanie Hatley (husband Scott), sister-in-law Lisa Munoz (husband Javier), Mother-in-law Edith Sage, and several nieces and nephews.
Steve, as a believer in Christ, was an active member of Calvary Church, where he worshiped and served for the last nine years. He loved greeting everyone with a smile, a big hug, and if you were lucky, a "Dad Joke"!
A celebration of life service will be held on March 15, 2025, at 2 p.m., at Calvary Church, 178 S. Pickens Bridge Road, Johnson City, TN, 37615. Receiving of friends will begin at 1:30 p.m. in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Calvary Youth in Steve's honor.

Steve was a Godly man who loved his wife, children and grandchildren. He left a legacy of Godliness, love, and laughter. He was like my big brother. I will cherish all the wonderful memories I made with Anita and Steve. I love their entire family so much. Praying for them during this difficult time. May God grant them all peace.

I will always love & treasure our crew meetings at your home. Steve's big smile & his genuine love for everyone he met. He lived wgat he believed in such an authentic way, and he loved Anita so beautifully. It was made me notice the two of them at church first
