Shannon Wiseman, 56, went home to her heavenly Father on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023. She passed peacefully at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville with her family by her side.
Born in the old Johnson City Memorial Hospital on November 21, 1966, she was the eldest of three children and only daughter of David and Ellyn Wiseman.
She graduated from Happy Valley High School in 1985 with honors. As a member of the track team, she still holds a record that is posted on the field house. She was also a varsity cheerleader and enjoyed dancing and gymnastics.
She was a natural caregiver who lived her life fully with great love and devotion to those around her. She graduated from the Tennessee College of Applied Technology in Elizabethton with a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree.
She is survived by her father, David Wiseman, and step-mother, Leisa; brothers, Scott Wiseman (wife Terri), and Jason Wiseman (wife Stacey); Her three children whom she loved deeply and was incredibly proud of, Lance Boyd, Allison Hobbs (husband Hunter) and Sydney Fritts, all of Johnson City; her beloved first granddaughter, Lainey Grace Hobbs; and her significant other, Thad Bowling. She is also leaving behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews who loved her very much.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Glyn Ellyn Wiseman; grandparents, J.B. and Maxine Galloway, and Charles and Grace Wiseman.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Family Life Center at Sinking Creek Baptist Church located at 2313 Elizabethton Hwy, Johnson City, TN 37601 on Monday, September 11, 2023, from 6:00-8:00pm.
Shannon, beloved mother, mamaw, daughter, sister, niece, and friend will be very much missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are directed to the family to help offset funeral expenses via the tribute fund link on her obituary page.
