GRAY - Sessamie Belle Casura, age 62, of Gray, TN, passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer on Friday, August 11, 2023.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Sessamie absolutely adored her children and grandchildren and spoiled them often. She loved traveling to casinos and gambling with her sister, and every Sunday during football season you would find her alongside her husband and family cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs. She truly devoted her life to her family, and we will forever miss her. Sessamie always lit up the room with her smile and brought joy to every occasion. She was the kindest, most generous person and was loved by all.
Sessamie was preceded in death by her mother, Ramona Abston Collingsworth; her brothers Windel Collingsworth and Billy Joe Collingsworth.
She is survived by her husband, Morrie; daughter, Stephanie Breedlove with husband, Joseph; son, Matthew Casura with wife, Kayla; Five grandchildren: Jackson, Jenna, Maxwell, Madeleine, and Ethan; sister, Edwena Wynn; brother, John Collingsworth; stepsister, Robin Montgomery; stepbrother, Clifton King; stepmom, Ruby Collingsworth; father, Billy Collingsworth; sister-in-law, Lavee Collingsworth; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City.
Sessamie will be laid to rest on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at 11:00 am at Washington County Memorial Gardens, officiated by Pastor Dan Rogers. Attendees are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45am.
The family requests that guests wear casual attire to the services. Sessamie' s favorite color was green or pink for breast cancer awareness.
