Sara Jane Goodwin Davis August 21, 2024
ELIZABETHTON - Sara Jane Goodwin Davis of Elizabethton completed her earthly journey and went home to be with her Heavenly Father on August 21, 2024, at the Erwin Health Care Center. She was the daughter of the late Lillie Goodwin and was born in Butler, Tennessee. Sara attended Watauga Academy where she excelled as a student. Her family moved to the Hunter Community where she resided until her health declined.
She was a member of Hunter First Baptist Church and supported many Christian ministries throughout her life. Sara worked in numerous places and ended her working career when she retired from Siemens. She made many close friends everywhere she worked.
In addition to her mother, Sara Jane was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Davis and by a son, Ronnie Lynn Stout.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memories include a son, Larry (Dolly) Stout of Elizabethton, a daughter-in-law, Patsy Stout of Gray, a stepson, Wayne (Donna) Davis of Knoxville; three grandchildren, Jamie (Jennifer) Stout, Kim (Rob) McCollum and Stephen (Denise)Stout; two step grandchildren, Hollie (Scott) Arnold and Brooke Meza; five great grandchildren, Patience, Asher, Madison, Lillian, and Noah Stout; three step grandchildren, Cole Arnold, Breyden and Levi Meza; and a very special friend, Lou Whittington.
Service and entombment will be conducted at 2:00 PM at Happy Valley Memorial Park - Mausoleum of Peace on Saturday, August 24, 2024 with Reverend Wayne Davis and Pastor Dennis Deese officiating. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jamie Stout, Scott Arnold, Wilber Meza, Asher Stout, Cole Arnold and Breyden Meza. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 1:50 PM on Saturday.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the nurses and caregivers at Erwin Health Care Center and the Amedisys Hospice nurses for your love and care.
