Sandra Kay Range, 78, died peacefully at her home on February 10th, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Sandra is preceded in death by her parents, Sexton and Lucy Range and her brothers Rupert and Ronald Range. Sandra is survived by her lifelong best friend and caregiver, Jan Martin. She has one niece Kathy Foster and nephews Michael Range, Ronald Range Jr., and Ritchie Range.
Sandra graduated from Happy Valley High School in 1964. She graduated from ETSU in 1968 with a bachelor's degree in education. Sandra worked for the Bristol Virginia City School System for 31 years as a librarian. Sandra loved and collected books, magazines, and newspapers. She also loved cats, especially the "grumpy cat" which several close friends lovingly nicknamed her. Sandra loved to travel with her best friend Jan and their Sunday school class members from Southside Christian Church. Sandra always rode shotgun with a purse full of mints. There will be a Celebration of Life service at Southside Christian Church at 3 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2024 with Mr. Mike Koruschak, Minister officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to Southside Christian Church, 1610 Southside Road, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2024 prior to the service. Condolences may be sent to the family at our web-site www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
