JOHNSON CITY - Rose Marie Crumley, 91 of Johnson City went home to be with her Lord, Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was a native of Piney Flats and was a daughter of the late James Paul Cretsinger and Buena Hale Cretsinger. Mrs. Crumley retired from Leon-Ferenbach Corp. She was a charter member of the Cash Hollow Presbyterian Church in which she was the Song Leader and a Sunday School teacher for many years. She loved her church and cared most about telling others about Jesus Christ and promoting the church. Marie enjoyed singing with her sisters as much as possible at church services, revivals, homecoming and other events. She was truly a disciple of the Lord. Marie also enjoyed gardening and canning her harvest, however, she was more passionate about sharing her garden harvest or anything she had with someone in need. Marie loved her family and was the focal point of the Cretsinger family for many years.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Aaron "Dickie" Larimer in 1976 and her second husband, James "Corky" Crumley in 2005; three brothers, Dan "Jack" Cretsinger, Ronald Cretsinger, and James Cretsinger; three sisters, Geraldine Metcalf, Edna Woodward, and Elva Hodges; a sister-in-law, Louise Curtis; two brothers-in-law, Joe Larimer and Eugene "Podo" Woodward; step daughter Laura Tipton; two nieces, Glenda Cretsinger and Darsey Blevins.
Survivors include her two sons, Darryl Cretsinger and his wife, Brenda, of Johnson City and Jeffrey Larimer and his wife, Mary Beth, of Gray; two sisters, Dolores Austin and Faye Cox and her husband, Jimmy, all of Johnson City; grandchildren, Greg Cretsinger and his wife, Mae, Keith Cretsinger and his wife, Angela, Erin Brant and her husband, Daniel, Jennie Good and her husband, Danny; great-grandchildren Bailey Cretsinger, Carter Rose Brant, Kara Cretsinger, Breyanna Cretsinger, June Brant, and Charlotte Good; step-grandchildren, Debbie Wilson and her husband, Keith, Grace Fish; sister-in-law, Sarah Walters and her husband Don; brothers-in-law Charles Larimer and David "Peewee" Larimer; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Crumley will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 22, 2024 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Rev. Charles Scherer officiating. The music will be provided by her nephew, Terry Austin. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the service hour. Graveside services will follow in the Emmert-Hawthorne Cemetery, Johnson City. Pallbearers will be selected from her family and friends.

Marie. I will miss you so much but know you are right next to Jesus showing Him how to can green beans and helping everyone. Hopefully you are relaxing. Marie was always the best person to me and guided me spiritually. She was the best spiritual example I will miss her terribly. I remember playing piano for her and have such fond memories of her and Corky. They treated me like their own. Thankyou for that. I love you Till I see you in Heaven love Debbie Wilson.
