JOHNSON CITY - Ronald "Ron" Bruce Ison, Jr., age 62, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at his home.
Ron was born April 25, 1961, in Kingsport, Tennessee, to Ronald Bruce Ison, Sr. and Ginger Hamilton Ison. He was a 1979 Science Hill graduate who loved playing football. While attending ETSU, he worked with the athletic football department. During his business career, he was the vice president of PFG national sales which allowed him to travel across the country making many friends and helping those in the food industry become more successful. In the past few years, good ol' east Tennessee had become his choice residence. Ron's most recent endeavor has been to help pioneer the newest Johnson City entertainment -Tiebreakers.
Ron is survived by his father, Ron Sr. and his mother, Ginger. In addition, he is leaving behind his pride--his son, "Trip" Ronald B. III, who resides in Texas, as well as his nieces, Alyson (Josh) Patton of Birmingham, Alabama, and Laura Torbett of Johnson City. He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Cindy Ison Torbett in 2021.
Ron's family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow, at 2:00 pm, under the direction of Pastor David Clark.
