Romel Adon Obituary

Romel Jose Adon, 20, was gathered in the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ on Friday July 28, 2023. Far too soon for those who loved him.

Romel graduated from Greeneville High School with honors and was attending the ETSU Nursing program where he was carrying a 4.0. He had worked at Food City on the bypass in Greeneville and at Olive Garden in Johnson City.

Romel loved spending time with his favorite person, his son, Nolan, and teaching him all about the world. He also loved hanging out with his many friends and family members. He loved to hike to waterfalls, go on many adventures with his friends, learn to play the keyboard, listen to his very eclectic music, go to festivals and concerts, learn new things, ask unending questions, grow unusual plants, read, and learn new languages. He was also very proud of his Mexican heritage.

Romel never met a stranger. He was loved and respected by so many people from many walks of life. His greatest joy was to meet new people, help others, listen to others' problems and encourage them.

Romel was preceded in death by his abuelo, Gregorio Adon Cruz and his tio, Salvador Adon Mendoza both of Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico.

Romel is survived by his precious son, Nolan Vincent Adon; his mom and bonus dad, Sherry and Jerry Gaskins; his papi and his papi's fiancé, Marcelo Adon and Lesley Musick; His big sissy and brother in law, Ashley and Andrew Long; his little sissy, Maria Adon; and his two nephews, Drew and Chase Long; His abuela, Rosa Maria Mendoza Arredondo of Leon Guanajuato, Mexico; and a multitude of tios and primos in Mexico; his very special friends Allison Martin, Aster Rhys, Tyler Bates, Aaron Fregoso, Kris Mysinger, Austin Sharp and Lorenzo Ruiz to name a few; and Megan Oxborrow, Nolan's mom. We hope no one is offended if we accidentally left you out.

Visitation will be at 5:00-6:30 pm followed by a celebration of life at First Presbyterian Church, 105 South Boone Street, Johnson City, TN on Friday August 4, 2023.

This is not a time to mourn, but a time to celebrate the life of this Awesome young man. Please come dressed casually. Consider wearing his favorite color, purple, or your favorite concert shirt, or something with mushrooms. Let's send Romel off in the style he would love.

Please note it for Nolan Adon. Romel talked about doing this in the weeks preceding his death.

And to his many friends, Romel's family appreciate the outpouring of sympathy, stories, pictures, and videos. It has meant so much to us to see how much he was loved and cared about.
