Roland began working at the young age of 12 with his father as a lumber jack. In 1961, he married Simone Giroux, who was from Coatlock, Quebec. Shortly after getting married, they moved to the USA. He worked various jobs as a carpenter. He really enjoyed woodworking. He has left us may pieces of beautiful furniture, bird houses, and just about anything made from wood. After they retired, they did a lot of traveling in their RV. They enjoyed visiting new placed and meeting new friends. One thing you can really say about dad is that he was honest and hard working. He was always there to help anyone with anything. He just loved a good meal, especially at the holidays. He so loved to put up Christmas lights each year, even if its just one string of lights.
He loved his family, and he always greeted people with a beautiful smile.
A Celebration of Life in loving memory of Roland will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, 2pm, at the Greenwood Ruritan Building, 118 Crockett Road, Jonesborough, TN.
