JOHNSON CITY - Rodney Edward Trivett, 62, Johnson City, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 18, 2025, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.

Rodney was born on June 10, 1963, in Johnson City and was a son of Rebecca Lane Duncan and the late Terry Edward Trivett, Jr.

Rodney dedicated over 30 years of his life to electrical sales. He was a man of integrity with many skills. Rodney was the steady rock, the calm of the family, and the voice of reason. His passion for guns, hog hunting, scuba diving, and all things Marvel brought joy to both himself and those around him. Rodney was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather. He cherished spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters, whether it was swimming, playing games, or watching movies.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife of 41 years, Missy Cloyd Trivett; daughters, Lyndsey Compton (Hunter), Lauren Trivett; grandchildren, Brailynn and Addy Compton; sisters, Angela Gillispie, Joanna Rogers, Tracie Harrison; and other family members.

A celebration of life service will be conducted Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 7:00 pm at Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City, with Minister Clint Andrews, officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the funeral home.

The graveside committal service will be held Friday, July 25, 2025, at 10:00 am in Washington County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Mike Cloyd, Mark Cloyd, Mark Peters, Daniel Hill, Taylor Lanter. The honorary pallbearer will be Hunter Compton. Those who wish to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:50 am
