Robert Lee Tipton of Limestone passed away at his home on Saturday at the age of 87.
He was born on July 16, 1937; he was a family man who loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He worked for UPS for 30 years. In his later years, he enjoyed working outside in his yard and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Barbara Tipton; two sons: David Tipton (Kathy) and Randy Tipton (Sherry); grandchildren: Ramona Fender (Brandon), Dana Brooke Chandler (Daniel), and Lee Tipton (Joe); and great grandchildren: Ryland Foshie and Henry Chandler.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Leroy and Estella Tipton; and grandson: Justin Tipton.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Philadelphia Cemetery. Dr. Ralph Shipley will officiate. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.
Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
