Robert Luther Owens May 12, 1928- May 15, 2024
GARFIELD HEIGHTS, OH - Robert Luther Owens, lovingly known as Bob, passed away on May 15, 2024, at the age of 96. He was born on May 12, 1928, in Johnson City, TN, and later moved to Garfield Heights, OH, where he resided until his passing. Bob proudly served in the Navy and worked as a route sales representative for a bread company in Cleveland, OH. He attended Science Hill High School and was an outdoors enthusiast.
He was a devoted brother and uncle, survived by his brother, John Owens, of Dallas, TX; sister, Irene Owens, of Cleveland, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Bob will always be remembered for his dedication to his country and his family. His caring nature and love for the outdoors touched the hearts of all who knew him.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, James Owens, Mattie Owens; sisters, Josephine and Margaret; and brothers, Jim "Junior", and Lawrence.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The committal service will be held at Monte Vista Memorial Park on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 10:00 am, located at 1900 E Oakland Ave, Johnson City, TN 37601, where Bob will be laid to rest. We invite all those who knew and loved him to join us in paying our final respects. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:50 am.
