Robert Wayne Hyder

May 14, 1956 -

August 26, 2025

After an extended illness, Robert Wayne Hyder, 69, passed away August 26, 2025 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Bob was born on May 14, 1956 in Johnson City, Tennessee to the late Hobart and Mary Hyder.

Most of his career was spent in sales. He had a heart for anyone in need. He was an outdoors person and an animal lover. Survivors were his siblings, Ann Slemp, Diana Bowman, and Doug Hyder (Tim Blackwelder), as well as several nieces and nephews that loved him dearly, and a special friend, Melanie Perry and his army buddy, Butch Surrett (Kristie). His special companion dog, Harley, misses him as well as many friends and family. He was special to many.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to Veterans Honor Guard of the Tri Cities. (276)356-2169. [email protected]

A private burial service will be held at a later date to celebrate Bob's life. Mountain Empire Cremation and Burial Services are honored to serve the family of Mr. Robert Wayne Hyder. (423)913-4818
