Robert Lee Burchfield, Jr. November 10, 1958- June 15, 2024
JOHNSON CITY - Robert Lee Burchfield, Jr., 65, Johnson City, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 15, 2024, with his family by his side.
Robert was a native of Johnson City and the son of the late Robert Sr. and Pansy Price Burchfield.
He was a truck driver for over 30 years until July 2005 when he became disabled.
Robert loved being a grandpa to his grandchildren, husband to his wife, and dad to his children. He enjoyed listening to music and turning it "wide open" along with hanging out with his two best friends, Bucky the dog and David Billington.
In addition to his parents Robert was preceded in death by his sisters, Becky Smith and Robin Burchfield, granddaughter, Kate Owens, special brother-in-law, Danny Sluder.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Mary Bentley Burchfield; daughters, Casey Baldwin (Steven), Heather Valdez (Joey); sons, Tim Woodby (Carla), Raymond Burchfield; grandchildren, Nolan, Ciara, Corylee, Chanceler, Christopher, Evan, Danny, Heven, Whitney, Kasey; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Sluder and Ginger Kopp (Denny); brother-in-law, Roscoe Smith; several nieces and nephews.
The celebration of life service for Robert will be conducted Monday, June 24, 2024, at 7:00 P.M. from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Palma Bennett, Minister, officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00-7:00 in the East Parlor of the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his son-in-law, Steven Baldwin and brother-in-law, Doug Garrison, for the exceptional care they gave Robert during this time. Along with Palma Bennett, Minister, for coming and praying with Robert often.
