Ricky Garland departed this life on Sunday, May 4, 2025. He was born on January 16, 1962, to Earl and Christine Garland in Johnson City, Tennessee.
Ricky worked for many years at Allied Piping and Thomasville Furniture. In his spare time, he loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his loved ones. With his warm, outgoing personality, Ricky never met a stranger. It was evident in how he carried himself and treated others that he loved the Lord. He was a member of the Grace of God Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Christine Garland; grandparents, Ed and Annalee Garland; brother, Ronnie Garland; brother-in-law, Kenneth Jones; nephew, Dustin Curtis; niece, Autumn Curtis; and sister-in-law, Regena Jones.
To cherish his memory, Ricky leaves behind his beloved wife, Mary Garland; daughter, Michelle (Cody) Sommers; grandchildren, Khloe Sommers and Kendric Sommers; great-granddaughter, Skarlett Sommers; siblings, Brenda (Gary) Curtis, Billy Garland, and Roger Garland; uncle, Frank Garland; his favorite dog, Willow; honorary sons, Jeremy Crowe and Joe Sommers; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to give a special thanks to "his girls" at the Johnson City Cancer Treatment Center and to Dr. J and Dr. C.
Memorial services for Mr. Ricky Garland will be conducted Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 5 pm from Fairhaven Baptist Church in Johnson City, Tennessee. The family will be receiving friends at the home of Ricky's daughter, 306 Green Valley Drive, Johnson City, Tennessee.
