Regina Mae Hart, 85, of Leesburg, GA, died March 3, 2025 at The Oaks at Oakland Plantation. The family will receive visitors, Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home immediately followed by Celebration of Life services at 2:00 PM. Dr. William E. Butch Knight will officiate. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
Regina was born in Berlin, GA to Walter and Sara Ruth Hart. She was raised in Colquitt County and graduated from Moultrie High School in 1957. Mrs. Hart was employed with the State of Georgia at the Office of Regulatory Services/ Standards & Licensure until her retirement in 2004. She was a member of the original downtown location of First Baptist Church of Albany where she also sang in the choir.
She and her 3 sisters grew up in a musically inclined family environment. They were often welcomed as guests on local radio music entertainment. The group later named "Hart to Heart" sang at different Venues including churches, nursing homes & misc. festivals. Regina also provided piano background music at weddings, birthday receptions via her Music by Gina start up.She also enjoyed dancing, working out at Tony’s Gym and was a talented seamstress, cook, and loving homemaker.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Jerry A. Pilkinton, Jr. of Albany and her sister, Dorothy Gay Spruill of Moultrie. Survivors include her daughters, Penny Pilkinton-Scott (Jay) of Acworth, & Lori Pilkinton-Lovins (Ray) of Albany, her long term partner Randall Trail of Leesbburg. Siblings include Guy Hart (Jackie), Donald Hart (Elmyra), and Buddy Hart (Gladys) of Moultrie, Carolyn Herring (Jerry) of Madison, and Shirley Blanton of Oklahoma City.
