JONESBOROUGH - Rebekah Barnett, 41, of Jonesborough, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at her home. It was her birthday. She was the daughter of Bill and Vicky Livesay, Johnson City.
Rebekah graduated from Unicoi County High School in Erwin, TN. Later, Rebekah obtained her certification as a certified nursing assistant. She enjoyed her work as a CNA and worked in several nursing homes in the area.
Rebekah was a member of Grandview Christian Church and loved attending the church where she grew up. As a young person, she was always involved in the youth group and mission trips.
Another great joy in her life was attending productions of the local community theatres where her parents and son performed. She was always front and center cheering them on. However, the biggest joy of her life was her son, Jakob. She attended every activity he was involved with and loved seeing him perform with the theatre, band, and in piano concerts. She was beyond proud of his achievements both in and out of school. She will continue to observe him from heaven.
Rebekah was preceded in death by her daughter, Ryleigh Faye Barnett; her grandfather, Herb Miller; a sister, Mona Brown; her "Aunt Lou", Louise Barker; and "Cousin Boy", Byron Barker.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Jakob Barnett; her parents, Bill and Vicky Livesay; her brother, Cory Livesay; her sisters, Angel Livesay, Vickie Brown, and Janie Brown; grandparents, Marie Miller and Bill and Shirley Livesay; uncles Rollo Livesay and Keith Livesay; niece, Catrina Brown; Jakob's dad, Trevor Barnett; and special friends, Sunni Bliss and Margie Greer.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 18, from 4:30-6:00 p.m. in the main sanctuary of Grandview Christian Church at 300 University Parkway in Johnson City.
The family requests that you make a memorial contribution in Rebekah's name to the American Diabetes Association, Grandview Christian Church Youth, or your favorite charity.
