Rebecca Cable Obituary
ERWIN - Rebecca Scott Cable, age 72, of Erwin, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at her home. A native of Erwin, Rebecca is a daughter of the late Wayne and Mary Louise (Ritchie) Scott. She was a member of Love Chapel Christian Church. Rebecca earned her Bachelor of Science degree from East Tennessee State University and was employed by the Unicoi County School system for nearly 50 years. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, substitute teaching, flowers and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Rebecca is preceded in death by her husband, William "Fred" Cable; cousin, Sharon Slagle; numerous aunts and uncles; brother-in-law, Tim Cable; and nephews: Timothy Cable and Korey McKinney.
Rebecca Scott Cable has left behind to cherish her memory: daughters: Amy Kamp and Alison Edwards (Curtis); grandchildren: Corbin Edwards, Owen Kamp and Avery Love Edwards; siblings: Carole Scott (David Edwards), Steve Scott (Fran), Micheal Scott, and David Scott (Cindy); aunt, Joann Ritchie; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Rebecca Scott Cable in a funeral service to be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, September 8, 2023 at Valley Funeral Home. Ben Evely will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 4:00 pm and will continue until service time on Friday at Valley Funeral Home. A graveside committal service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 9, 2023 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Those attending the committal service should meet at Happy Valley Memorial Park by 9:50 am for the service. Serving as active pallbearers will be Curtis Edwards, Frank Lascola, Cody Scott, Ryan Scott, Jon David Scott and Rob Simpson. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Scott, Micheal Scott, David Scott, David Edwards, Corbin Edwards and Owen Kamp.
