Randal Kyle "Randy" Humphreys

August 30, 2025

JOHNSON CITY - Randal Kyle "Randy" Humphreys, 70, of Johnson City, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness.

A lifelong Washington County resident, Randy was the son of the late Kyle Denton and Wilma Jean Taylor Humphreys.

He graduated from David Crockett HS in 1973 and earned a BS from ESTU in 1978.

Randy devoted forty-three years to commercial banking, serving in leadership roles with Hamilton Bank, SunTrust Bank, Washington County Bank, and most recently Renasant Bank.

He was a faithful member of Grace Fellowship Church for twenty-five years, volunteered with the Boys & Girls Club, Johnson City Chamber of Commerce, and gave generously to his community, especially through charity golf events. A scratch golfer who made two holes-in-one, Randy also enjoyed softball, watching the Vols and Bucs, and spending time with his many friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-four years, Joy Baldwin Humphreys; sister, Angela Kay Humphreys and husband Joseph Cashia; niece and nephews, Gina, Matthew, and Vincent Cashia; and his beloved companion, Ivy Angel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky, and stepmother, Helen.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, September 28, from 2–5 p.m. at The Heritage in Jonesborough. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, Grace Fellowship Church, the FSHD Muscular Dystrophy Research Fund, or your favorite animal shelter.
