JONESBOROUGH - Mr. Ralph Brian Mowery, age 82, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023, at his home in Jonesborough, Tennessee.
Mr. Mowery was born to the late Ralph Edward and Dorothy Daniels Mowery, in Peoria, Illinois on December 27, 1940. After the family moved to Tennessee, he became a lifelong member of Eden United Methodist Church.
He proudly served his country as an officer in the United States Army to include tours in Vietnam. After his uniformed career, he continued to serve those in the military throughout a civilian career.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Rebecca Carolyn Mowery; an infant son, Mark Mowery; and his siblings, Charles, Keith and Joy.
He is survived by his wife, Madeline Hill Mowery; children, Tim Mowery of Tampa FL, Ellen Purdy (Jeff) of Canton, GA, Robyn Mowery of Roswell, GA, James Mowery, of Birmingham, AL, and Neil Mowery (Michelle Petrovic) of Manassas, VA; step-son, Darren Hill of Virginia; grandchildren, Jessica, Christopher, Victoria, Taylor-Marie, Nolan; and one brother, Ted Mowery (Ruth Ann) of Johnson City, TN
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Eden United Methodist Church with Pastor Bryan Orchard officiating. A visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM, prior to the service. A Graveside will follow at Eden Cemetery.
