ELIZABETHTON - Priscilla Madge Bailey of Elizabethton passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024. Priscilla was born in Carter County to the late Ollie Dell and Hampton Edward Peters Sr. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Jack Wayne Bailey, her brother Buddy Peters, her sister Patsy Peters, and her grandmother, Rachel Bradshaw.
Priscilla had worked as a Registered Nurse and was a member of Eastside Christian Church. She was an active member of American Nurses Association and proudly supported St. Jude's Hospital.
Those left to cherish her memory include four children: Mark Wayne Bailey and wife Christie, Matt Bailey and Summer Grindstaff, Ruthie Simpson and husband Roy, all of Elizabethton; Rachel Leonard and husband Gary, of Bristol, TN, 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and two brothers Hampton Edward Peters Jr. of Elizabethton and Bill Peters of Watauga. Other family left to cherish her memory include aunts, nieces, and nephews.
The graveside service officiated by Greg Key with special music by Jamie Schaff to honor and celebrate the life of Priscilla Madge Bailey was conducted at 10:30 am on Monday August 26th, 2024, at Highland Cemetery in Elizabethton, TN. Active pallbearers were selected from friends and family. Honorary pallbearers were Amedisys Hospice, Sycamore Shoals third floor nursing staff, Dr Sheryl Pack, and Carter County Rescue Squad. A fellowship followed the service at Westside Christian Church of Elizabethton.
The family request memorials in lieu of flowers, made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place Memphis, TN 38105.
