JOHNSON CITY - Phyllis Gay Nave, age 80, of Johnson City, Tennessee, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Vernon Peterson and Mabel Spain Sheffield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an Aunt who was like a sister to her, Brenda Hubbard.
Phyllis was a member of Calvary Church. She was very accomplished in all of her business endeavors with a notable career as a realtor having been the Owner and Operator of Homeowners Concept and then finishing her career part time with Reality Executives. She was a faithful caregiver for her husband Fred and known by her family as a loving Wife, Mother, and Nannie. Family was everything to Phyllis and her focus was always on her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Fred L. Nave; four children, Bart Nave and wife Lelia, Brett Nave, Tammy Nave, and Troy Nave and wife Tracy; nine grandchildren, Zachary Nave, Brandon Nave, Lauren Hyder, Jada Nave, Amber Nave, Jacob Nave, Greyson Nave, Claire Nave, and Micah Nave; seven great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Jerri Sheffield and husband Brownie; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
A Private Committal Service and Interment will be held at the Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pastor Bill Pealer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Calvary Church, 178 S Pickens Bridge Road, Johnson City, TN 37615.
