JOHNSON CITY - Phyllis Jean Johnson, 83 of Johnson City, TN went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday December 20, 2023, at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Sidney and Flossie Peterson. She was of the Christian faith.
Phyllis was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was everything to her. She worked as a quality control inspector at Texas Instruments / Siemens in Johnson City for 25 years. Throughout her life she enjoyed her fur babies and watching the Tennessee Vols and other sports teams on television. As her health declined over the last few years, she was just happy spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her brothers, Malone Peterson and
Curley Peterson, sister-in-law Barbara Peterson and her sister, Nella Jane Peterson.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children; Daughter, Sheila Doyle (Joe), Son,
Jeff Light (Cindy), Grandson, Ryan Doyle (Natalie) and Grandchildren, Caroline Doyle and Grayson Doyle. Sister-in-law, Marzella Peterson and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a gratitude of thanks to home health nurse, Kelsey DeVault and Palliative nurse, Meagan Long for their excellent care and abundance of love shown to our mother. To Parish nurse for Boones Creek Christian Church, Tammie Payne for her love and support for our family and to Al Sellner and Phyllis Leach for their love and support for our mother and family.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 Wednesday December 27, 2023, followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 at Tetrick Funeral Services, 3001 Peoples Street in Johnson City. Officiated by Pastor Aaron Cox. Her burial will follow immediately after at Washington County Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. Friends and Family will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Washington County/Johnson City Animal Shelter, 3411 North Roan St, Johnson City, TN 37601 or Boones Creek Christian Church, 2684 Boones Creek Road, Johnson City, TN 37615.
