Peggy Overbay Obituary

Peggy Veach Overbay

March 21, 1948 -

July 13, 2025

Peggy Veach Overbay, 77, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. She was a woman of strength, wit, and unwavering love.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lucy, and her son, Tim. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Lynn; her sister Carolyn and brother Bill and their families; her son Tony and his wife Wendy; and grandchildren Alexa (Mitch), McKinley, Sydney, and Jake, along with great-grandson Redding.

Peggy was a gifted athlete and talented photographer who excelled in many sports, including bowling and horseshoes. She and Lynn traveled much of the country together, living in communities across Tennessee, Arizona, North Carolina, California, and Utah - each one better for the impact she made there. She loved the outdoors and brought her sense of curiosity and connection with her wherever she went.

She will be deeply missed and always remembered for her humor, strength, and the way she made people feel truly seen.

A celebration of Peggy's life for close family will be held at a time and date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you take the opportunity to do something you love with someone you love - just as Peggy would have wanted.
