ELIZABETHTON - Peggy Williamson Hurst, age 86, of Elizabethton, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024 surrounded by her family at her home. Peggy was born in Wendell, North Carolina to the late James Raeford Williamson and Hazel Owen Williamson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Rhonda Booth and her brother-in-law, "Friend Larry".

Peggy retired as a CNA and was a member of Hunter First Baptist Church. She enjoyed doll collecting, lighthouses and happy faces. Peggy loved talking to people and traveling and going to restaurants.

Those left to cherish her memories include her beloved husband, Johnny Hurst; three children, Ronald Raeford Booth, Cynthia Sulou Russell and husband Phillip, and Anna LaRue Hurst and husband Michael White; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Smith "Sister Sue"; and her furbaby, "Dobby". Many nieces and nephews also survive.

A celebration of Peggy's life will be conducted at 12:30 PM on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM prior to the service on Thursday.

The graveside service will follow the funeral at 2:00 PM on Thursday at the Mountain Home National Cemetery (Historic Section, 53 Memorial Blvd., Mountain Home, TN). Active pallbearers will be Michael White, Phillip Russell, Robbie Johnson, Johnny Brown, Stephen Brown and Josh Booth.
