Patrick Malone Obituary

Patrick Malone, age 59, passed away Friday February 9th surrounded by his loving family and friends at Johnson City Medical Center.

Patrick was a graduate of Happy Valley High School class of 1982 and a graduate of Draughons Junior College of Cosmetology. Patrick was preceded in death by his father Dean Malone in 2020, also his paternal grandparents Virgil and Cora Malone.

Patrick is survived by his mother Phyllis Ledford Malone, brother Brian Malone, sister-in-law Janilu Carter Malone, nephew Everett Malone, brother Timothy Malone and girlfriend Lisa Young along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Patrick was a prominent hair stylist in the Johnson City area for over 30 years.

He was also well known for being a musician. Attributes include being a founding member of Punchin' Judy and being an influential mentor to many local musicians of the musical community. His profession, music, generosity and genuine care for people earned him many loyal friends in the Tri-Cities Area.

The family would like to extend our gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Intensive Care Unit at Johnson City Medical Center for their support and care.

We would also like to thank pastor Chuck Babb and all the members of Sinking Creek Baptist Church for their prayers and support during this time.

A private memorial service will take place for family and friends with a Celebration of Life event being planned for a later date so everyone who knew and loved him can honor his memory. Condolences may be sent to our website: www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.

Pay was a good friend of my big brother James Hensley. Like most of his friends Pat was also very kind and became a friend to myself also. The boys would come over and talk, music was usually the conversation. But I always lived to hear what they had to say. I looked up to them. I am so glad that I got to know him more as the years passed. He was my go to guy for advice on natural curl, when almost no good advice existed around this area. That helped me so much, with my son's and my hair. But he also helped me with my self esteem. I was an ugly duckling and he knew I needed help. He guided me to having a hair style that fit me and made me finally not feel as much like that duck. So thank you Pat. I am truly sorry for your loss and hope that knowing what a wonderful human he really was will help you cope a bit.
