ERWIN - Patricia Gambrell Stamey, age 68, of Erwin, TN, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at ECU Health Beaufort Hospital in Washington, NC. A native of Greenville, SC, Pat is a daughter of the late Marshall Rudolph and Ora Mae (Graybeal) Gambrell. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing and animals, especially her cats and dogs. In addition to her parents, Pat is preceded in death by two sisters, Marsha Gambrell and Joan Lloyd; and one son, Chris Stamey.
Patricia Gambrell Stamey has left behind to cherish her memory: husband of 39 years, Edward Stamey; sons: Eric Haun and wife Misty, and Michael Stamey; daughter, Heather Castaneda and wife, Olga; grandchildren: Colton Haun, Aubrey Stamey, Ashlyn Stamey, Dominique Johnson and husband, Nick, Sage Haun, Finn Stamey and Giovanna Castaneda; one great-grandson, Walker Haun; brothers: Jerry Gambrell, Mark Gambrell and wife Christy; sister, Priscilla Hagy and husband Joe; nieces and nephews: Roger Lloyd, Jr., Shannon Gambrell, Cynthia Gambrell Elliott, Chris Gambrell, Whitney Gambrell, Sarai Harrell, Alexis Gambrell, Kevin Wise and Stephanie Wise Novin; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Patricia Gambrell Stamey in a funeral service to be held at 7:00 pm on Saturday, December 16, 2023 in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Harold Lloyd will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 6:00 pm and will continue until service time on Saturday. A graveside committal service will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, December 17, 2023 in Evergreen Cemetery. Those who wish to attend the committal service should meet at Valley Funeral Home by 2:00 pm on Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers will be Colton Haun, Sage Haun, Kevin Wise, Chris Gambrell, Eric Haun and Michael Stamey. Honorary pallbearer will be Finn Stamey.
