GRAY - Patricia Wren Haren, age 67, passed away at Johnson City Medical Center on March 28th, 2024, following a lengthy illness.
Born February 6th, 1957 in Washington County, TN, Wren was the daughter of Dale and Joy Haren. Wren is preceded in death by her beloved brother, Larry Haren, her parents, and beloved grandparents, Sam and Mary Jenkins and Roy and Dess Haren. She is survived by her sister-in-law Cecilia Haren, niece Elizabeth Haren Shelton, and beloved and appreciated cousin Dr. Vince Haren.
Wren was a member of Hales Chapel Christian Church. She was a graduate of Daniel Boone High School and attended ETSU and the UTK where she majored in Physical Education. Wren taught school and worked for the UT Extension Office, Olan Mills, Service Merchandise, Cherokee Adventures, and Kingsport Braves minor league team.
She loved all sports with passion for volleyball, softball, and Daniel Boone and UT athletics, excelling at volleyball at Daniel Boone and ETSU and later coaching it. She loved the family farm called 2BZ2 Farm. She adored nature and flowers, traveling broadly practicing award-winning nature photography. She handcrafted award-winning jewelry, loved cooking, and published her cookbook series 2BZ2 Cook to share recipes.
Wren, with her shining personality and infectious smile, had never met a stranger. Her many beloved friends were always supportive of her. Dr. Vince Haren, Deanna Carey, and Ruth Martin continually saw that her needs were met.
Your presence is requested as we remember Wren on Tuesday, April 2nd from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E Watauga Avenue, Johnson City, (423) 928-6111, with funeral at 2:00 PM and following graveside service at Gray Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Daniel Boone Volleyball Team. Memories may be shared via www.wadugger.com.
Her beloved and long-time supporters, Minister Clint Andrews and Dr. Vince Haren will officiate. Pallbearers are Richard Jenkins, David Jenkins, Jim Cline, Rick Maupin, David Hanson, Joe McCray, Mark Porter, and John Martin III. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Vince Haren, Eddie Haren, Robert Haren, and Lorenzo Ramunno, Esquire.
