Pamela Russell Murray, 68, died unexpectedly on July 13, 2023, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Pam was born on February 28, 1955, in Knoxville, Tennessee, the daughter of Paul F. Russell Jr. and Joan Taylor Russell. She graduated from David Crockett High School in 1972 and from the University of Tennessee in 1976.
Pam was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her mother, her husband, Robert D.
Murray; her sons, William H. Wright, IV and wife, Stacey; Benjamin P. Wright and wife, Ginger as well as five grandchildren: William H. Wright V, Ethan Wright, Corbin Wright, Kayla Wright, and Collin Wright; sister, Patricia R. Hyder and brother, David P. Russell, M.D.
Pam worked in several different areas and was equally competent in each. She had worked for banks, attorneys, real estate offices and home remodeling. Her outgoing personality meant she never encountered a stranger, in fact, she often engaged in conversations with strangers to learn about their lives. An avid reader, her tablet remained with her at all times. She loved to travel, especially to explore national parks and beaches.
Funeral services will be held at Dillow Taylor Funeral Home, Jonesborough, TN on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at 4:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, prior to the service. Interment will immediately follow the service at Fairview Cemetery.
