JOHNSON CITY - Otta Sue Sims, 89, Johnson City went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 21, 2023 at her residence. She was a native of Portageville, Missouri and was a daughter of the late Samuel and Etta Baynes Savage. Mrs. Sims was a member of the Word of Life Church in Johnson City. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Richard Sims Sr. in 2022; a son, Charles Richard Sims Jr.; a son-in-law, Mark White Sr.; seven brothers and sisters, Jesse Savage, Samuel Savage, Ethel Quillen, Hazel Moody, Lillian Sims, Ann Haymaker and Harvey Savage.
Survivors include her children, Glenda Ball and her husband, Kenneth of Johnson City, Teresa White of Johnson City, Terry Wayne Sims of Mt. Juliet and Mark Sims and his wife, Pam of Joplin, MO; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services for Mrs. Sims will be conducted at 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pastor Donny Reagan officiating. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the cemetery entrance by 12:50 PM. There will be no formal visitation.
