Norris Sanders Obituary

Norris "Wayne" Sanders passed away on March 15, 2025, in Mechanicsville, Virginia. Born on February 24, 1948, in Warsaw, Virginia, Wayne lived a life defined by resilience and commitment to his loved ones.

He was the beloved child of Norris Sanders and Della (Sanders) Rollins, both of whom preceded him in death. Wayne is survived by his four children: Dwayne Sanders, Shane Sanders, Tania Etheridge, and Casey Sanders as well as five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his siblings, Gentry Hamblin and Brian Sanders, along with his stepfather, Buddy Rollins and step sister, Doris Lunsford.

He was a man of great humor and wisdom, always the life of any gathering. He had a deep passion for golfing, football, baseball, boating and camping. Attending Nascar races held a special place in his heart; and, his dog, Lucky, was always by his side.

Although Wayne is no longer with us, he will forever be remembered. Gone from our sight but never from our hearts.

I just came across Wayne´s death. I am very sorry. I never thought he would leave us. I was married to him for a time. I´ll never forget his fun loving nature, his devotion to family and friends. I always thought he would retire to Florida. Love always.
