JONESBOROUGH - Mr. Norman "Carroll" Painter, age 89, Jonesborough, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Painter was born March 15, 1934, in Chuckey, TN to the late Gurney & Ada Foster Painter. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Painter, brothers, Gilbert Painter and Roger Painter, and a grandson, Bentley Hill.
He was a member of Embreeville United Methodist Church.
Mr. Painter was a United States Army Veteran.
He retired from Klopman Mills and Budweiser. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and tending to his chickens.
Survivors include son, David Painter (Patricia), Chuckey; daughters, Debbie Wilson (Keith), Elizabethton, Lisa Honeycutt (Travis) and Barbara Hoxworth, all of Jonesborough; grandchildren, Tammy, Ashley, David, and Samantha; great-grandchildren, Austin, Maddison, Levi, Kaimen, and Solara; two brothers, Billy Painter, and Curtis Painter; two sisters, Cynthia Dockery and Alice Gouge; many special friends, nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 PM, Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Embreeville United Methodist Church with Pastor Craig Zirkle officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 PM Sunday prior to the service.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 5, 2024, at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family & friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.
