JOHNSON CITY - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nellie Johnson Goldman, 99, Johnson City, who peacefully left this world on August 25, 2023, at Agape-A Waters Community.
Nellie Johnson Goldman was born on April 9, 1924, to Speed and Pernia Pate Johnson in Mining City, Kentucky.
Nellie was a colorful vibrant giving woman. She touched the lives of all who knew her. Nellie was a cherished friend, a devoted sister, and an incredible mother to not only her children but to many. She believed in the power of kindness and practiced it daily, touching countless lives with her compassion and generosity. Her home was a haven of vibrant colors and cherished treasures, reflecting her unique and creative perspective.
In addition to her parents Nellie was preceded in death by her husbands, Jim Pierce, Irving Goldman, Paul Bachman and grandson, Jon Goldman.
Survivors include her three children, Rosalee Whitt, Alan Wayne Goldman, Marla Goldman Hayden (John Charles Hayden); stepdaughters, Myra Fine and Linda Christensen; grandchildren, Glenn Whitt, Julie Hunter, Eric Whitt, Todd Fine, Josh Kochelek, Karrine Brade, Kyle Kochelek , Fletcher Goldman, Paul Brian Goldman and Melissa Goldman Smith; 13 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, she adored, Delores Cecchetti and Shirley Rockwell.
The funeral service will be conducted September 1, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Bishop Ryan Hackett, officiating. The graveside committal service will follow in Monte Vista Memorial Park.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Nellie Johnson Goldman's life from 10:00-11:00 A.M. prior to the service in the East Parlor of the funeral home.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the support and condolences received during this time.
