BAKERSVILLE, NC - Naomi Evelyn Johnson Webb, age 95 of the Red Hill Community went home to be with the Lord November 14, 2023. She was born in Yancey County, NC to the late Trotto Truett and Phebe Ann McKinney Johnson. She was retired as a secretary for Modern Globe in Bakersville, NC.
Naomi was a 60-year member of Cub Creek Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School Teacher and Secretary Treasurer. She enjoyed singing in the Cub Creek Trio and also enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was a prayer warrior who dearly loved her family.
Survivors include: one daughter Janie Webb Butler and special friend Danny Moody, of Marion, NC, two sons: Ronnie Webb (Sue), of Erwin, TN, and Bobby Webb (Ann), of Morganton, NC, ten grandchildren: Michelle Woody, Rhonda Ledford, Dr. Melessia Webb, Scotty Penix, Tammy Shell, Shana Buchanan, Martin Webb, Miranda Woody, Ashley Butler, and Crystal Webb, ten great-grandchildren: Megan Fox, Logan Woody, Whitney Raye, Kendall Ledford, Brooke Robinson, Brailey Webb, Keyven, Daylen, and Keaton Buchanan, and Adeline Webb, five great-great-grandchildren: Averie, Finnley, and Isabelle Fox, Ava and Brinley Moore, and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Oscar Webb Jr. and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 17, 2023 at 12:00 NOON in Cub Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Doug Willis and Pastor and special nephew Rob Gouge officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Bakersville Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cub Creek Baptist Church PO Box 96 Bakersville, NC 28705. The family would like to express a special thanks to Autumn Care Nursing Facility Marion, NC and also to Hospice of McDowell County. Also, a special thank you for the relentless care provided by her grandchildren Mandi Woody and Brooke Robinson.
